Most newsletters are ignored, deleted, or worse—unsubscribed from.
Why?
Because they’re boring.
Because they sound like a corporate memo.
Because they don’t respect the reader’s time.
But when done right?
Newsletters become a revenue machine.
I know this because I’ve perfected the art of the newsletter.
📈 My emails consistently hit open rates in the mid-to-high 80s%.
📈 They build trust. They drive conversions. They make money.
And if your newsletter isn’t doing the same?
You’re leaving a LOT of money on the table.
Here’s how to fix that.
Hook Them in 3 Seconds or Lose Them
Your audience doesn’t wake up dying to read your email.
They’re busy. Distracted. Their inbox is overflowing.
You have THREE SECONDS to grab their attention.
✔ Your subject line MUST create urgency, curiosity, or FOMO.
Bad: “This Month’s Newsletter”
Better: “Your content strategy is silently killing your sales—here’s why.”
✔ Your preview text should tease the value inside.
✔ Your sender name must be recognizable & trustworthy.
People open emails from people, not faceless brands.
Write Like a Human (Not a Robot)
Ever opened an email that felt like a formal press release?
Yeah, no one wants that.
Your audience isn’t craving corporate jargon—they want personality.
✔ Ditch the fluff. Get to the point.
✔ Write how you talk. Conversational beats corporate.
✔ Make them feel something. Emotion sells.
Example:
❌ Bad: “Our company is excited to share our latest insights.”
✅ Better: “Let’s talk about why most content marketing fails (and how to fix it).”
People buy from people. Make it personal.
Make Every Email Sell (Without Being Salesy)
Here’s the secret:
The best newsletters don’t sell hard.
They build trust
—which makes selling effortless.
Instead of:
❌ “We’re offering 20% off—buy now!”
Try:
✅ “Most businesses waste money on content that doesn’t convert. Here’s how to fix that (and a special offer to help you do it).”
Big difference.
Your email should feel like a helpful conversation, not a desperate pitch.
The CTA: Don’t Make Them Think
If your reader has to guess what to do next, they’ll do nothing.
✔ Be crystal clear. Spell it out.
✔ Make it low friction. No hoops to jump through.
✔ Give them a reason. What’s in it for them?
❌ Bad CTA: “Click here to learn more.” (Vague. Boring.)
✅ Better CTA: “Want to see how this works? Grab your free strategy session today.”
Make it stupidly easy to say yes.
Consistency Wins (Or You Lose)
Newsletters aren’t a one-time thing.
If you only send them when you feel like it, don’t expect results.
Consistency builds trust.
Trust builds sales.
📅 Start with 2x per month
📅 Scale up as engagement grows
📅 Stay top of mind—without being annoying
Your audience should expect and look forward to your emails.
Your Newsletter Can (and Should) Be Printing Money
I don’t just write emails.
I write high-converting newsletters that get opened, read, and acted on.
If you want emails that sell without feeling salesy, let’s talk.
